If you’re not already familiar with the unraveling work of French-Morroccan photographer Leila Alaoui, take a moment to visit Somerset House’s virtual exhibition.
In the form of a short film narrated by British writer and curator Ekow Eshun, you are guided through the four sections of the exhibition; 'The Moroccans', 'No Pasara', 'Natreen', and a snippet of her unfinished film work, 'Devils Island', which explores France's colonial history.
If you have 8 minutes and are a sucker for history, context and guided tours, I highly recommend spending some time with Somerset House and then surfing the internet to explore more of Alaoui’s work for yourself.
